Psychoanalysis is a form of therapy with a greater session frequency than traditional psychotherapy. This is a long-term, deeper style of treatment that allows for the full exploration of interpersonal dynamics and internalized belief systems, and how those two phenomena play out against each other. Most importantly, we will explore how those dynamics might be playing out in the therapeutic relationship (this is called transference).
